Description

Nasredeen Abdulbari, who currently is finishing his Doctor of Juridical Science (SJD) degree at the Georgetown University Law Center, is a consultant on international law, constitutional law, and human and constitutional rights. He was a lecturer in the International and Comparative Law Department, University of Khartoum, where he taught public international law, conflict of laws, and introduction to the English legal system courses. He also worked, on a Satter Fellowship from Harvard Law School, as Head of the Protection, Peacebuilding, and Psychosocial Unit of the Sudan Social Development Organization (SUDO). In East Africa, Abdulbari was a senior researcher at the Rift Valley Institute and consultant for the Open Society Initiative for Eastern Africa based in Nairobi, Kenya. He authored articles that were published in academic journals such as the Journal of African Law (London University), the African Human Rights Law Journal (Pretoria University), the Birkbeck Law Review (London University), and the Harvard Human Rights Law Journal. He is a co-author of a book in Arabic titled “The Future Constitution of Sudan: Aspirations and Views” published in 2013 by the Ahfad University Press, Khartoum, Sudan. In addition, he authored Op-Eds that were published in the Guardian, The Washington Post, The New York Times, and the Global Observatory. Abdulbari holds an LL.B. and LL.M. from the University of Khartoum and an LL.M. from Harvard Law School, where he was a Stoffel Scholar and a Landon H. Gammon Fellow.
