Description
Elfatih Eltyib Abdelraheem is the HIV and Health Regional team leader for Arab States. He brings 15 years of work experience with UNDP and other agencies at country and regional levels. Prior to previous 5 years with UNDP, he worked with UNAIDS and UNICEF in different capacities but for the same purpose, which is fighting HIV/AIDS. Elfatih provide support to Country offices in Arab States region of UNDP to strengthen the national HIV responses and advocacy for advancing the Human Rights of People Living with HIV and other Key Affected Population. Elfatih expertise also includes advising the governments on the Prevention and Control of Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs) and Tobacco Control measures through designing and delivering multi-sectoral responses addressing the risk factors and the complications. Elfatih also is experienced in conducting an Investment cases for both NCDs and Tobacco through assessment of direct and indirect costs of the diseases and their risk factors. Elfatih is keen on developing and maintaining partnerships with Civil Society Organizations (CSOs), Inter-governmental institutions and other UN agencies to deliver on the common agenda. Elfatih is a medical doctor by training and holds a Master’s Degree in Public Health (Epidemiology) and has training on various Health and Development issues.
